The CIE Office serves as a resource to members of the University community. We provide oversight and guidance related to regulatory compliance and ethical standards. We are committed to responding to campus concerns in an effective, efficient, consistent and transparent manner.
Advancing Our Mission
The CIE Office mission is to advance the University's core values by providing advice and support to the Pitt community regarding our commitment to compliance and ethics. We do this by:
- Supporting regulatory compliance across the University;
- Establishing the University's Ethics Program;
- Implementing the University's Privacy Program;
- Providing fair, balanced and complete investigations when necessary;
- Making training resources available for University members; and
- Collaborating with faculty, students and staff to commit to and incentivize ethical behavior.
